Mayor Proclaims November as ‘Hospice and Home Health Care Month’

November 01,2023

Surrounded by health care workers, Mayor William E. Cooper Wednesday proclaimed November as ‘Hospice and Home Health Care’ month in the City of Enterprise.

Representatives from DaySpring Hospice, Gentiva Hospice, Southeast Alabama Homecare and SouthernCare Hospice were in attendance.  Mayor Cooper said these companies and all of their employees provide comfort and dignity to their patients, allowing them to spend their final months at home, surrounded by those people who are important to them.

“Hospice and Home Health Care programs provide an option for individuals with terminal illnesses to be cared for as they choose in their final days, often in their own homes and surrounded by the love of their families,” Cooper said. The doctors, nurses, counselors, volunteers, and others who provide hospice and home health care throughout our country bring comfort to those most in need every day, treating patients with the dignity and respect they deserve.”

Cooper said not only Enterprise, but the entire Nation should be grateful for the work of these dedicated medical professionals.

“By taking the time to care for others, they are making America a better place.”
