Phase IV of resurfacing project to begin this week

October 30,2023

The city’s on-going resurfacing project will continue on Edwards Street in downtown Enterprise this week.

Crews will be going block-by-block repaving, starting at the intersection of Edwards and Watts.  Work along Edwards Street is expected to last Monday through Thursday.  Detours will be clearly marked. Drivers are encouraged to allow for more time to reach their destination if they are traveling through downtown.

The emergency entrance to Medical Center Enterprise will not be affected.

A total of 31 streets are expected to be paved as part of Phase IV.  The City of Enterprise Engineering and Water Departments have worked together to determine which roads would be part of this phase, replacing necessary water and utility pipes prior to resurfacing.

Wiregrass Construction was awarded the bid for Phase IV of the resurfacing project during the Oct. 3 City Council meeting.  Wiregrass Construction was previously awarded Phases I, II, III-A and III-B.

Nearly 27% of the roughly 750 streets in the City of Enterprise have been repaved in the last three years.
