Patriot Day

The City of Enterprise will honor Patriot Day with a memorial at the Wall of Freedom.

The annual ceremony will be held Monday, Sept. 11 at 7:35 a.m. at the Wall of Freedom at the entrance of Johnny Henderson Family Park. The public is encouraged to attend.

Mayor William E. Cooper will give a few remarks, followed by a wreath-laying with local first responders, and a bell-ringing ceremony with a moment of silence.  The event is coordinated by the local Veteran Service Organizations and the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, with support from the City of Enterprise.

This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11 deadly terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

On Patriot Day, flags are lowered to half-mast and there is a country-wide moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. EST, the time the first plane crashing into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.
