Sanitation update following holiday closures

January 03,2024

The City of Enterprise Public Works department picked up 5,800 cans of waste last Wednesday following the Christmas holiday.

At Tuesday’s work session of the Enterprise City Council, Director of Public Works Barry Mott said approximately 200 tons of solid household waste was transported to the landfill from Dec. 27's pickup alone.

Mott said that while all household garbage pickup is up to date, bulk garbage is currently two days behind.

“We continue to ask for the public’s patience as we work to collect the bulk yard waste from the holidays,” Barry Mott said. “The bulk items on the side of the roadway will be collected as quickly as possible and we expect to be caught up in two weeks.”

City residents are reminded that yard debris can be taken to the grinding site located on East Drive (off Coppinville Road) at no charge. The grinding site is for City of Enterprise residents only, and a permit must be obtained from the Public Works Department before use of the grinding site. Proof of residency will be verified. The grinding site is open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.  No construction debris generated from a contractor will be accepted at the grinding site.

Building debris such as scrap lumber, plaster, roofing, concrete, brickbats or similar materials resulting from the construction, repair or demolition of any building or structure on private property, as well as dirt and rocks, will not be removed by the Sanitation Department. The owner/contractor shall be responsible for removal.
