Enterprise Parks and Recreation Superintendent Blake Moore was awarded the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association District 6 Professional of the Year at a ceremony Wednesday night in Ozark.

Moore, who is starting his 9th year in the parks and recreation field, was recognized for his work as district chairman, speaking at the NFL Flag Summit in Atlanta, and being the first in the state to launch the Jr. NBA program through EPRD.

“I have a true passion for what I do and a true passion to serve,” Moore said. “I believe in bringing the opportunity for quality programs at an affordable cost to not only Enterprise, but the district and state.”

“We are fortunate to have Blake on our team and are incredibly proud to see him recognized for the work he is doing,” Enterprise Director of Community Services and Recreation Billy Powell said. “Blake has provided structure, organization and invaluable leadership not only to ERPD, but also in his role on the ARPA board.”

The award honors an individual that has rendered outstanding service or accomplishments to the leisure, recreation, parks and/or conservation profession through leadership and/or active involvement, for the last five years.

“We have a great team at Enterprise Parks and Recreation. There are lot of people who make me look good from our city administration, EPRD admin staff, grounds and maintenance staff, volunteers and parents. I am so thankful for each one and their support,” Moore said.
