Mayor William E. Cooper Tuesday recognized two members of the city’s revenue department for completing additional training that will aid in their ability to help the community.

Chief Revenue Officer Laura Miller and Accounting Clerk Sandra DeTora each were presented with a certificate of achievement for completing the requirements for Certified Municipal Revenue Officers (CMRO) certification.

“Both Laura and Sandra have demonstrated a desire to better serve the citizens of Enterprise through this continuing education,” Enterprise Chief Financial Officer LeeAnn Swartz said. “We are proud of their accomplishments and are thrilled to equip them with more resources and knowledge to better help our local business owners.”

The purpose of the CMRO program is to improve the professional, administrative, and fiscal skills of municipal revenue officers through a series of courses approved by the Alabama Municipal Revenue Officers Association. Classes include topics such as auditing, business licensing, ethics in revenue administration, and taxes. The certification includes 80 hours of instruction over two years and requires individuals to maintain 20 hours of continuing education every two years.
