Cheers: Alabama Sweet Tea Festival vendor applications now open

July 03,2024

The sweetest event of the summer returns to Enterprise as the newly designated Alabama Sweet Tea Festival, recently endorsed by the Alabama Department of Tourism.

The second annual Alabama Sweet Tea Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Enterprise Civic Center and Festival Field at 2401 Neil Metcalf Road.

“We are steeping with pride to be able to call this the Alabama Sweet Tea Festival after receiving the designation from the Alabama Department of Tourism,” Enterprise Director of Tourism and Community Relations Tammy Doerer said. “Excitement is brewing in our community, and we are ready to create the perfect blend of entertainment, vendors and activities for this annual event.”

Vendor applications opened Wednesday morning, with vendor spaces available both inside the Enterprise Civic Center and outside on the Festival Field. Non-profit vendor spaces start at $25, outdoor vendor spaces start at $75, indoor vendor spaces start at $100 and food truck vendor spaces start at $125.  Additional vendor add-ons, including extra space and electricity are available for purchase. All restaurant, food vendors, and food trucks must have the proper city business licenses and meet all health and fire inspection requirements.

Interested vendors will apply through a new system that Doerer said is designed to make the process easier for vendors and staff alike.

“Because a limited number of vendor spaces are available, the Alabama Sweet Tea Festival Committee members will review each application and contact vendors within 15 business days. If approved, applicants will receive an electronic invoice. If denied, applicants will receive email notification. We will accept applications until July 19, or until filled.”

Following last year’s event that drew thousands of people, Doerer said attendees can expect a similar event, but with a few changes.

“We are perfecting the recipe for success and stirring up ideas to spice up the event even more. We will have a tasting tent and a people’s choice contest. From the outdoor festival field leading into the Enterprise Civic Center, this year we are also introducing a midway which will be filled with non-profits offering tea-riffic activities and experiences.”

Doerer said Nashville recording artists Sweet Tea Trio will take the stage in the afternoon.

“This all-women trio combines country and pop and is sure to sweeten our event. They’ve opened for Alabama, Bon Jovi, Scotty McCreery and Parker McCollum. We can’t wait to have their talent return to Enterprise and elevate the magic of our small-town Alabama hospitality.”

Additional entertainment acts will be announced closer to the festival.
