2nd annual Mardi Gras on Main set for Feb. 1, 2025

June 27,2024

The good times will roll again as plans are underway for the 2nd annual “Mardi Gras on Main" event in downtown Enterprise on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, from 4 to 9 p.m.

Expanding on the success of the 2024 event, the 2025 event will begin with a golf cart parade starting at 4 p.m. on West College Street. The parade will cross over Main Street, onto East College Street, before turning around at Edwards Street. The Mardi Gras on Main Royal Ball will be held on Railroad Street starting at 5 p.m. Enterprise City Council approved the necessary road closures at the June 18 meeting.

“This year, our Mardi Gras King and Queen will be crowned after the parade,” Main Street Enterprise Executive Director Mariah Montgomery said. “We will soon ask the public to nominate individuals to compete for the titles and encourage the entire community to support the fundraising efforts for downtown beautification projects.”

More than $19,000 was raised during the inaugural event. Funds were used in several areas in downtown, to include four branded patio umbrellas for The Nook at 123 S. Main Street, as well as lighting and electrical improvements. A portion of money was designated for a topographic survey and preliminary design phase services for developing raised bump outs located at the Main and College Streets intersection.

“This is truly a vibrant community celebration, and we had incredible support for our first year. We are looking forward to the expansion of this year’s event and know our citizens will enjoy all we have planned.”

Details on nominations for the 2025 titles will be announced in the coming months. Montgomery said sponsorships are available. For more information, email mainstreet@enterpriseal.gov.
