Farmers Market Peak Season Kickoff set for Saturday

Carolyn,Gerrytalk to customer

The kickoff for the Enterprise Farmers Market Peak Season is set for this Saturday.

Farmers Markets continue to be open under the state’s “Safer-At-Home” Order. Farmers Market Manager Birgit Briggs said the market set-up is designed to meet the state health safety orders. Arrows and signs will help visitors practice social distancing. Visitors are also asked to take safety measures such as the wearing of masks and/or gloves.

Farmers will be following the guidelines established by the state to protect themselves and customers.

Everyone is encouraged to attend in a safe manner. They will find that farmers have a variety of fresh, tasty produce available, and a number of artists and crafters will have beautiful and unique items for sale.

Because of the Coronavirus threat and the need for safety practices, some of the usual kickoff activities will not be taking place. However, recipes, including treasured recipes from some of the vendors themselves, will be available for pickup by adults who want to try new dishes made from products sold at the market.

Coloring pages will be available for children along with a take-home seed-planting kit.

In the accompanying photo, Carolyn and Gerry Davis talk with a customer inquiring about their homemade jams, jellies and salsas.
