The City of Enterprise self-service Recycling Convenience Station at 529 Glover Ave., has reopened after several weeks of closure due to COVID-19 safety directives.
Mayor William E. Cooper said the city is still concerned about the safety of both employees and customers as the recycling station is used once again. He asked everyone to continue to practice safety measures such as wearing masks and gloves and social distancing when going to the recycling station.
Employees will be at the station to help unload and subsequently sort the recyclable items. The Mayor also asked that everyone be patient since the volume of recyclables may be significantly more for a time.
The station is located to the right of the City of Enterprise Public Works building in the fenced area. Operating hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Items must be cleaned and rinsed, with no food or liquid residue inside, in order to be acceptable for recycling.
Accepted items are carboard (no waxy coating), newspapers, magazines, junk mail, paper, plastics labeled Number 1 or Number 2 (Number appears inside Recycle symbol on the bottom of container), and tin and aluminum cans.
Glass and Styrofoam are not accepted.
